This is an easy to install heat shrink jointing closures designed for telecommunications cable. This versatile jointing closure is suitable for aerial overhead, buried sub-terrain and ducted applications for outside plant, and can be applied to a wide variety of telecommunications copper cable sizes.
Waterproof rating: IP68 (submersible in water)
Cable entry and sealing: Cables enter through the side of the closure. Sealing achieved through flame being applied to heat shrink material and being filled with air blocking resin applied in order to form a seal.
Mounting mechanism: fitted onto the frame or else direct buried
Operation:
Essential to verify that no gas is present around the proximity of jointing chamber prior to carrying out new or maintenance work.
The flame of the torch is to be angled in the shrinking direction and the flame is to be moved continuously around the sleeve to avoid hot spots, sleeve wrinkles and air pockets while performing the heat shrink procedure
